The Life Oak Cliff Lions waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with six straight wins but they left with seven. Their defense stepped up to hand Village Tech a 8-0 shutout. Give Life Oak Cliff's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.
They hit Village Tech with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Vivian Vu (4),
Karla Ambrosio (2), and
Alexandra Meza (2).
Life Oak Cliff's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those three games. As for Village Tech, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Life Oak Cliff will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Ranchview at 6:00 p.m. on February 14th. Life Oak Cliff is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Village Tech, they will head out on the road to square off against North Hills Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Village Tech's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for nine straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
