The Barren County Trojans are on the road again on Saturday and plays the Adair County Indians at 7:00 p.m. on February 10th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Barren County earned a 54-44 victory over Franklin-Simpson.
Meanwhile, Adair County beat Marion County 58-46 on Friday. Given Adair County's advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while Marion County is ranked 238th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Adair County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Connor Loy, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Dawson Gilbert, who scored 11 points.
Barren County's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-8. As for Adair County, they pushed their record up to 20-4 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Barren County against Adair County when the teams last played back in January of 2020 as the squad secured a 68-34 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Barren County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
