Football Recap: Farmersville Piles Up the Points Against Gainesville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Farmersville). They blew past the Gainesville Leopards 49-13 on Friday. The contest was close at halftime, but the Farmers turned on the heat in the second half with 35 points.

Farmersville found their leader in sophomore Jr Reyes, who rushed for 104 yards and two TDs on only ten carries.

Farmersville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Amare Warren.

The victory made it two in a row for Farmersville and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 13 points in those games. As for Gainesville, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coincidentally, Farmersville and Gainesville will both be playing Bonham the next time they take the field. The Leopards will host the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Farmers will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
