After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Stanislaus, The Perry Central Bulldogs were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They came out on top against Tylertown by a score of 39-30. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Perry Central's seven-point performance the contest before.
Ausin Jones got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 79 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 88 yards and two touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Dejohn Johnson, who rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown.
Perry Central's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Tylertown, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Perry Central will challenge Magee at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Hopefully Magee focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Thursday. As for Tylertown, they will head out on the road to face off against Jefferson Davis County at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Jefferson Davis County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Tylertown in Mississippi (Jefferson Davis County is ranked 42nd, while Tylertown is ranked 167th).
