The Takini Skyhawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a serious blow against Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, falling 81-36. While losing is never fun, Takini can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Cheyenne-Eagle Butte is ranked 34th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cheyenne-Eagle Butte to victory, but perhaps none more so than Austin Johnson, who scored ten points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Lawrence, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Takini's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
