Basketball Recap: Bisbee Wins Going Away Against Tombstone

Bisbee won the last time they faced Tombstone and things went their way on Friday too. The Pumas took down the Yellow Jackets 56-39. With that victory, the Pumas brought their scoring average up to 51 points per game.

Bisbee had a senior duo take command as Nicole Ceja posted 13 points along with seven assists and six boards and Alyssa Lopez almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Lopez has scored at least a third of the Pumas' points. Rosa Moreno was another key player, putting up 12 points and seven rebounds.

Bisbee was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for Bisbee and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.5 points over those games. As for Tombstone, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Tombstone has already played their next matchup (against Willcox), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Bisbee will be paying especially close attention to the Yellow Jackets' contest: after the Yellow Jackets face off against Valley Union, they'll take on Bisbee again at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
