The Cozad Haymakers put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 45-29 win over Cambridge. That's another feather in the cap for Cozad, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Cozad found their leader in underclassman Olliver Davis, who scored 19 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Shoemaker, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Cambridge lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ben Hoberty, who scored 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Brohdey Wood, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Cozad pushed their record up to 5-0 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Cambridge, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
Cozad will head out on the road to face off against Ainsworth at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cambridge will take on Anselmo-Merna in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Monday at.
