The Evansville Reitz Panthers lost to the Jasper Wildcats back in February of 2023, but the Evansville Reitz Panthers didn't allow the Jasper Wildcats the same satisfaction on Thursday. Evansville Reitz snuck past Jasper with a 46-42 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Evansville Reitz.
Evansville Reitz was led to victory by Bailey Hape and Kaelyse Mitchell. Hape scored 16 points along with five assists, while Mitchell scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. Hape continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Norah Miller, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Evansville Reitz's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Jasper, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Evansville Reitz will challenge Breckinridge County at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Breckinridge County is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. As for Jasper, they will head out on the road to take on Martinsville at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Martinsville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 249th, while Jasper is ranked 63rd).
