They snuck past Borrego Springs with a 42-37 victory. Winning is a bit easier when you make five more threes than your opponent, as Julian did.
Leading Julian to victory were Max Cruz and Kenny Morytko. Cruz scored 12 points, while Morytko scored ten points.
When it comes to explaining why Borrego Springs lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brody White. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 16 points and 25 rebounds. Angel Fernandez was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Even though they lost, Borrego Springs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Julian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Borrego Springs, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Julian will head out on the road to challenge Calexico Mission at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Calexico Mission is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Borrego Springs, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against West Shores at 5:30 p.m. West Shores comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
