The Woodlawn Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 63-47 to Parkville. While losing is never fun, Woodlawn can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Knights are ranked 70th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Parkville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mikko Persia, who scored 25 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Persia has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Anthony Council, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Woodlawn has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Parkville, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-3.
Woodlawn will square off against the Golden Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Parkville, they will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
