Colon has been on the road for four straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Climax-Scotts Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Colon's 18-8 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 70-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Quincy on Monday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (55), Colon still had to take the loss.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Dalton Williams, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. He scored a full 37.1% of Colon's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Muntian, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Climax-Scotts scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with a 57-44 win over Calhoun Christian. The win was just what Climax-Scotts needed coming off of a 50-28 loss in their prior match.
Colon's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Climax-Scotts, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Colon strolled past Climax-Scotts in their previous meeting back in February by a score of 60-45. Will Colon repeat their success, or does Climax-Scotts have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
