The Sanford-Fritch Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Farwell Steers at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Sanford-Fritch is still on the hunt for that elusive first W.
Two Fridays ago, Sanford-Fritch took a serious blow against West Texas, falling 40-7.
Meanwhile, Farwell had to suffer through a rough 38-7 loss at the hands of Stratford. While losing is never fun, Farwell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 596th, while Stratford is ranked 196th).
Even if they lost, Farwell's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Lucas Nicolas and his two sacks.
Sanford-Fritch's defeat was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-6. Sadly, the team can't blame their woes on tough opposition, as that stretch included 1-5 Tulia and 2-8 River Road (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 42.6% over those games). As for Farwell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.
Sanford-Fritch took a serious blow against Farwell in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 46-3. Will Sanford-Fritch have more luck at home instead of on the road?
