The Fleming Island Golden Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Providence School Stallions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fleming Island is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
If Fleming Island beats Providence School with six runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Golden Eagles beat Keystone Heights on Thursday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Eagles.

Mallory Blackwell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lauren Abram, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Anisten Kurlander, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Providence School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 9-0 to Hilliard.
Providence School also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Sophia Prather gave up four earned (and five unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, Providence School saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayleigh Cardona, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.
Fleming Island's record is now 11-6. As for Providence School, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.
Providence School's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Fleming Island hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. It's a different story for Providence School, though, as they've only averaged .199. Will they be able to contain Fleming Island's hitters?
Fleming Island might still be hurting after the 22-6 defeat they got from Providence School in their previous meeting back in March of 2021. Can the Golden Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
