Kennedy was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to second in South Sequoia. The Thunderbirds beat McFarland 28-12 earlier in the week.
Chavez scaled the state rankings by moving to 626 from 706 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Titans climbed the ranks as a result of topping Strathmore 45-14.
6-foot-2 quarterback Jones Brandon of Bakersfield Christian is the league leader in passing yards this season with 277. He has also thrown 2 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jamie Arellano. The Kennedy star has 4 catches for 73 yards.
Chavez took down the Spartans 45-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
