Blue Ridge is 9-1 against Eastern Mennonite since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Barons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Flames at 4:30 p.m. Blue Ridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
Blue Ridge took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They never let Roanoke Catholic get on the board and left with a 19-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Barons in their matchups with the Celtics: they've now won seven in a row.
'Alvin' Band-Cheng Wen and Jaden Colvard made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Wen pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Colvard tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Blue Ridge is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-4 otherwise. At bat, Wen earned one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Colvard went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was Colvard's first of the season.

In other batting news, Junho Lee was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Blue Ridge is 4-2 when Lee posts two or more runs, but 0-3 otherwise. Jason Byers was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Blue Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Eastern Mennonite narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Randolph-Macon Academy 8-6.
The team relied heavily on Cyrus Diener, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Todd Reamer, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs.
Blue Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Eastern Mennonite, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
Eastern Mennonite's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Blue Ridge hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .330. It's a different story for Eastern Mennonite, though, as they've only averaged .226. Will they be able to contain Blue Ridge's hitters?
