Basketball Recap: Greenwood Piles Up the Points Against Easley

Greenwood won the last time they faced Easley and things went their way on Friday too. The Greenwood Eagles simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Easley Green Wave 70-34. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 21 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Greenwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Danielle Oliver, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten steals. What's more, Oliver also racked up six assists, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Cameron Oliver was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds.

The victory (which was Greenwood's fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.6 points per game. As for Easley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.

Greenwood will take on J.L. Mann at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Greenwood has won eight straight at home dating back to last season, while J.L. Mann won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Easley, they will square off against Mauldin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mauldin has four straight wins, Easley has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
