Willis extended their winning streak to five on Tuesday, bumping them up to 5-1. Everything went their way against the Caney Creek Panthers as they made off with a 16-2 win. Considering the Wildkats have won four games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Alexi Ford and Hadley Lebow made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Ford didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Lebow struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Ford went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run, while Lebow went 2-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. That's the most doubles Ford has posted since back in March of 2025.
In other batting news, Madison Culp was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Tharp, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Willis kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Caney Creek only managed four.
As for Caney Creek, they dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The contest marked their lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
On Caney Creek's side, Avery Castaneda put in work no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and eight unearned) runs off six hits. Castaneda was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.
Willis wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 5-0 victory against South Grand Prairie on the 19th. As for Caney Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-5 win against Fort Bend Dulles on the 19th.
