Ribault hadn't done well against Riverside recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Ribault Trojans were the clear victor by a 17-4 margin over the Riverside Generals. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
TJ Brant and Jaquarious Moore made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Brant pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Moore struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. Brant is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last five games he's played.
In other batting news, Christian Morales was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Ribault's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when he doesn't). Braylin Clarke was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-4.
Ribault kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.2 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 9.
Ribault pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11 runs. As for Riverside, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
