The Van Wert Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 49-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bryan. Van Wert was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bryan apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Bryan can attribute much of their success to Jase Kepler, who scored 19 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Dominique, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Van Wert has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Bryan, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-6.
Van Wert and Ottawa-Glandorf will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Ottawa-Glandorf presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Van Wert in Ohio (Ottawa-Glandorf is ranked 21st, while Van Wert is ranked 584th). As for Bryan, Bryan and Patrick Henry will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Patrick Henry and Bryan are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
