The Lawrence Academy Warriors will square off against the Camden County Bruins at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Lawrence Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Albemarle School a 14-0 shutout.

Lawrence Academy let Simon Lundy and Hunter Eason run wild. Lundy went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Eason scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave Lundy a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Powell, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Lawrence Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last match, Camden County made sure to put some runs up on the board against Northeastern on Tuesday. The Bruins blew past the Eagles 10-0. Considering the Bruins have won five contests by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Bradley Elias was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Camden County is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-4 otherwise. Elias was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cooper Lewin, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Trot Pipkin, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Lawrence Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Camden County, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Lawrence Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Camden County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Lawrence Academy skirted past Camden County 6-5 in their previous matchup back in March. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bruins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
