The Broome Centurions will head out on the road to face off against the Spartanburg Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Tuesday, it was a hard-fought match, but Broome had to settle for a 67-65 defeat against Boiling Springs.
Despite their loss, Broome saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Xavier Hill, who scored 23 points along with 3 steals, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Ja'Coreyun Broadus, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Spartanburg had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 46.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They took down Westside 66-47.
Broome's win lifted them to 4-4 while Boiling Springs' loss dropped them down to 1-3.
Broome took a serious blow against Spartanburg in their previous matchup on Friday, falling 80-26. Can Broome avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
