Williams Field and Verrado are an even 4-4 against one another since November of 2016, but not for long. The Williams Field Black Hawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Verrado Vipers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Williams Field is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Verrado in Arizona (Williams Field is ranked 64th, while Verrado is ranked 201st).
Williams Field had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 50-36 victory over Chandler.
Williams Field's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Latoya Brooks led the charge by scoring 10 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 steals. Brooks is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now stole two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Madison Geisler, who scored 3 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
Meanwhile, Verrado was beaten by Millennium 107-14 on Friday. Verrado has not had much luck with Millennium recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
The win got Williams Field back to even at 4-4. As for Verrado, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Everything came up roses for Williams Field against Verrado in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 50-23 win. Will Williams Field repeat their success, or does Verrado have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
