Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Uniontown). They blew past Oakland Catholic 16-4 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Red Raiders, who have now won three matchups by 11 runs or more so far this season.
Emmaleigh Noah was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.
In other batting news, Alexa Budner was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Graci Rodeheaver was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three runs.
Uniontown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oakland Catholic only posted an OBP of .407.
Uniontown's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-5. As for Oakland Catholic, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
