Volleyball Recap: Owen Valley Comes Up Short

Owen Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers.

Despite the loss, Owen Valley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brailee Lecocq had ten digs and one assist. Lecocq is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Leading North Montgomery to victory were Lilly Graham and Paisley Gillan. Graham had five digs and five aces, while Gillan had six digs. That's the most aces Graham has posted over her last five matches.

Owen Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-21. As for North Montgomery, with the victory, they broke their four-match losing streak and moved their record to 9-18.

Coincidentally, Owen Valley and North Montgomery will both be playing Speedway the next time they take the court. The Chargin' Chargers will head out to face the Sparkplugs at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Patriots will play them later in the day, at 2:30 p.m.
