Basketball Recap: Dugway Drops Highest Score of Season Against Monument Valley

Dugway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-46 heartbreaker at the hands of the Monument Valley Cougars. On the bright side, the 46- point performance marked the Mustangs' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Despite the defeat, Dugway saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gary Williams Jr posted 26 points. Those 26 points set a new season-high mark for Williams Jr. Another player making a difference was Vincent Pace, who had eight points.

Dugway's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Monument Valley, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-6 record.

Dugway has already played their next game, a 60-36 defeat against Escalante on the 13th. Monument Valley will take on Northwest in a holiday battle at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
