4A District 3 recap September 10, 2013
DeQuan Reeves and Bishop Louie provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Northeast. The longest such play in 4A District 3 this season, the connection resulted in 52 yards.
McLain Science & Tech was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from sixth to third in the league. Earlier in the week, the Titans triumphed over the Vikings 62-0.
Tyler Myles was the best receiver in the league this week as Cleveland topped Hominy. Myles racked up 5 receptions for 110 yards. Dakota Hewitt helped Cleveland's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 45 yards.
JIMMY MCKINNEY was the most successful running back in 4A District 3 this week. In 16 carries, he ran for 157 yards as Oologah bested the Bucks. Teammate PAYTON CRAIG added to the ground attack by rushing for 78 yards.
Sawyer Pooler put up the best numbers in passing as Miami lost to Grove. He finished with 11 completions for 213 yards and 2 touchdowns. Pooler's favorite target this week was Christian Folks, who caught 2 passes for 81 yards.
THOMAS HELVICK was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Mustangs lost to Claremore. The 5-foot-11 senior.
He went 11-22 with 1 interceptions.
Derek Reeves was a passing and rushing force as Cleveland topped Hominy. He completed 10 passes for 176 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 123 yards.
5-foot-11 quarterback Pooler of the Wardogs is the league leader in passing yards this season with 213. He has also thrown 2 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Myles. The Cleveland star has 5 catches for 110 yards.
