Baseball Recap: Point Pleasant Beach Triumphs

Point Pleasant Beach came out on top against St. Rose on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Garnet Gulls took their contest against the Purple Roses 6-1. The Garnet Gulls haven't had any issues with the Purple Roses recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

TOMMY CONROY made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. CONROY was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other pitching news, BENNETT MOBERG tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on NOAH BANICK, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was DANIEL STORCH, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Point Pleasant Beach's record is now 9-1. As for St. Rose, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, St. Rose will head out to face off against Middletown North at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Point Pleasant Beach will be paying especially close attention to the Purple Roses' game: after the Purple Roses face off against the Lions, they'll take on Point Pleasant Beach again at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
