Brimfield has gone a perfect 4-0 against Astoria/VIT recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Indians will look to defend their home field against the Rebels at 4:30 p.m. Brimfield is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 13 games.

Brimfield's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over Illini West. Considering the Indians have won 14 games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Schyer Meinders, who gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks to keep Illini West off the board. Meinders has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kendyl Binder was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Josie Wiewel, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.

Brimfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Illini West only posted a batting average of .043.

Meanwhile, Astoria/VIT lost 14-2 to Cuba/Spoon River Valley on Tuesday.

Astoria/VIT saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was C Sutton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Brimfield's victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Astoria/VIT, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Everything went Brimfield's way against Astoria/VIT in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Brimfield made off with a 19-0 victory. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rebels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
