The Northwestern Lehigh Tigers are taking a road trip to square off against the Jim Thorpe Olympians at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Northwestern Lehigh will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
While Northwestern Lehigh's win against Lehighton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers won by a run and slipped past the Indians 2-1.

Aidan Freeman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Northwestern Lehigh saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Fitzgerald, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Brady Zimmerman was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Jim Thorpe, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with an 11-7 victory over Bangor on Tuesday. With that win, the Olympians brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Nikolas Schwartz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brody Schrantz, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cole Lazorick, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Jim Thorpe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Jim Thorpe's record now sits at 7-10. As for Northwestern Lehigh, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Northwestern Lehigh has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. However, it's not like Jim Thorpe struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Northwestern Lehigh skirted past Jim Thorpe 14-13 in their previous matchup last Tuesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
