The Riverdale Christian Ambassadors kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 66-54 to Arvin. Riverdale Christian has not had much luck with Arvin recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Arvin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Miguel Damian, who scored 13 points. Damian continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Freddy Pulido was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Riverdale Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Arvin, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Riverdale Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Caruthers at 3:30 p.m. on December 27th. Arvin won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against California City at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully California City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Saturday.
