Having just played yesterday, the Mourning Sharks will head out on the road to face off against the Jackson Generals at 5:30 p.m. on December 29th. Mourning is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
On Thursday, Mourning was able to grind out a solid victory over South Miami, taking the game 55-48. The victory was just what Mourning needed coming off of a 59-33 loss in their prior game.
Mourning's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kristopher Jean-Jacques led the charge by scoring 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Omar Pigott, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 76-30, which was the final score in Jackson's tilt against TERRA Environmental on Wednesday. Jackson was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-17.
Mourning's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Jackson, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Mourning strolled past Jackson when the teams last played back in December of 2022 by a score of 64-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mourning since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
