After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Christ Church Episcopal, the High Point Academy Grizzlies were happy to have found some success on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 49-35 win over Southside Christian. That result was just more of the same for these two, as High Point Academy also won the last time the pair played back in January.
High Point Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but J'Sean Sanders led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of DeAnthony Ross, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Southside Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Zane Hagy and Bryson Duck. Hagy scored nine points along with five rebounds, while Duck scored eight points along with two steals.
High Point Academy is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. As for Southside Christian, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.
High Point Academy will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Bengal at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. As for Southside Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. St. Joseph's Catholic is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
