Aledo has gone a perfect 5-0 against Azle recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bearcats will be playing at home against the Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Aledo will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Aledo is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 72-10 victory over Richland. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 51-7.

Lincoln Tubbs had a dynamite game, throwing for 270 yards and four TDs on only 19 passes, while also rushing for 138 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries. Those 138 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaydon Finley, who picked up 169 receiving yards and three scores.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Aledo was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 340 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 168 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Aledo didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Kaeden Weaver, Ryland Haley, and Alex Patton picked up one apiece. Patton got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Azle, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against Granbury on Thursday as they made off with a 35-13 win. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Azle's win came from a few key players Aledo will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Derrek Vowell, who threw for 186 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of Azle's success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-5 otherwise. The Hornets' leading receiver Aiden Mackey was Vowell's top target yet again, picking up 93 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
Azle's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Aledo, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Aledo has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 240.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Azle struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 235.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Aledo against Azle in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 77-14 win. In that game, the Bearcats amassed a halftime lead of 56-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
