The Pieper Warriors waltzed into their match on Friday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. Their defense stepped up to hand Tivy a 5-0 shutout. Considering Pieper has won eight matches by more than three goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
They hit Tivy with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Blake Dildy (3),
Erik Ong, and
Jack Thatcher.
Pieper pushed their record up to 12-2-1 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 41 goals over those eight matchups. As for Tivy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5-1.
Pieper will head out on the road to take on Smithson Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Pieper is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Texas (they are ranked 102nd, while Smithson Valley is ranked 247th). As for Tivy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Veterans Memorial at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Veterans Memorial will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Tivy surely won't give up without a fight.
