Reed and Spanish Springs are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2022, but likely not for long. The Raiders will face off against the Cougars at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Reed will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Reed is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Bishop Manogue with a sharp 9-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won 18 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Hayley Noble spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Krystyn Noble was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and four RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Kehaulani Tambaoan was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Reed was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Spanish Springs faced Douglas in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Cougars walked away with a 7-3 win over the Tigers. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Spanish Springs also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Lily Delamora gave up just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mackenzie Kirkendoll, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Maddy Marshall, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Reed's win was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 27-5-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Spanish Springs, their win bumped their record up to 22-10-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Reed hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Spanish Springs struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Reed beat Spanish Springs 8-3 when the teams last played on Saturday. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
