Liguori Academy is on a three-game streak of home losses, Parkway Center City a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Liguori Academy Falcons will take on the Parkway Center City Bulldogs at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Liguori Academy suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Monday. They were outmatched by Freire Charter on the road and fell 73-43. Liguori Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-16.
Despite the loss, Liguori Academy saw an underclassman step up: Rydee Miller scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Miller has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Naiem Scott-Allen, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Parkway Center City came up short against MAST Charter II on Thursday and fell 63-53.
Despite the loss, Parkway Center City got a solid performance out of Israel Mckinley, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Mckinley pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Dock Brown, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Liguori Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Parkway Center City, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
