The Fort Calhoun Pioneers won the last time they faced the Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers, and things went their way on Saturday too. Fort Calhoun strolled past Bancroft-Rosalie with points to spare, taking the game 67-49. Given Fort Calhoun's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Bancroft-Rosalie is ranked 148th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Grayson Bouwman, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Fort Calhoun's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Elofson, who scored 14 points along with six assists.
The win makes it two in a row for Fort Calhoun and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Bancroft-Rosalie, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-4.
Fort Calhoun will be home for the holidays to greet Conestoga at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Conestoga is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Bancroft-Rosalie, they will head out on the road to face off against Pender at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pender is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
