Softball Recap: Saint James Now 9-1 over Last Ten Games

While Saint James put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Brewbaker Tech. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Rams. Considering the Trojans have won 15 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Emily Needham's shutout, as she gave up just a hit.

On the hitting side, Tatiana Shuford was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Ava Stanford, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Saint James is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 33-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Brewbaker Tech, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-10.

Coming up, Saint James will head out to challenge Trinity Presbyterian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Brewbaker Tech, they will welcome Holtville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
