D.C. Everest got a big performance out of Sydney Spear, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave Spear a new career-high. Kelsey Meverden was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.
D.C. Everest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Stevens Point got the win against Merrill on Tuesday by a conclusive 28-2. The Panthers have beaten the Bluejays the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bluejays has come to flipping the script.
Callie Diekhus made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Abbi Grabow looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Addi Peskie, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, eight RBI, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Roth, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with five runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.
Stevens Point's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for D.C. Everest, their win bumped their record up to 16-0.
