Lafayette Christian Academy has won five straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Evangel Christian Academy has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much  on Thursday. The Knights will host the Eagles  at 7:00  p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Friday, Lafayette Christian Academy really took it to Welsh for the full four quarters, racking up  a  52-14 win. With the Knights ahead  49-7 at the half, the  contest was all but over already.
Lafayette Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Caiden Bellard led the charge by rushing for 160 yards and one  touchdown on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 46 yards and one  TD. Another passer making a difference was  Braylon Walker, who threw for 129 yards and four  TDs on only nine passes.
 Lafayette Christian Academy's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB  three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess:  Kaleb Simon,  Josh Wilson,  and  Tristen Alexander, who each picked up one  sack apiece. Simon was another major factor on D,  picking up  a  sack and making six total tackles (4.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Evangel Christian Academy blew past Haughton, posting  a  63-27 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Eagles' considerable advantage  in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 135th).
Lafayette Christian Academy better keep an eye on  Peyton Houston. He was instrumental in Evangel Christian Academy's win, throwing for 435 yards and eight  touchdowns while completing 78.1% of his passes, and also rushing for 67 yards and one  score on only seven carries. That's the most  passing touchdowns  Houston has posted since back in October of 2024.  Demarkus Evans was  Houston's top target, picking up 119 receiving yards and three  scores.
 Evangel Christian Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut  Cardelrio Coleman. Another thorn in Haughton's side was  Bennett Speer, who picked up  a  sack and made 17 total tackles.
 Lafayette Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Evangel Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 7-1.

Thursday's  game will pit two  of the most dominant  signal callers against one another:  Walker and  Houston. Walker just won't slow down this season and  has thrown 19 touchdowns while averaging 144.5 passing yards per game. Houston has been a dominant force too and  has thrown 34 touchdowns while averaging 364.4 passing yards per game.
 Lafayette Christian Academy ended up a good deal behind  Evangel Christian Academy in their previous meeting  back in November of 2024, losing  56-42.
