The Lake Taylor Titans are ranked highly in their home state, and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Cardozo Clerks. Lake Taylor narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Cardozo 50-48. The win was just business as usual for Lake Taylor, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Cardozo lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cameron Young, who scored 15 points along with four steals. Young has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Darrius Seward, who scored five points along with 17 rebounds and four blocks.
Lake Taylor's victory bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Cardozo, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-1.
Lake Taylor will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Manor at 7:00 p.m. on January 12, 2024. As for Cardozo, they will head out on the road to face off against Banneker at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Banneker will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
