Taylor hasn't had much luck against Carlson recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Griffins will be playing at home against the Marauders at 4:00 p.m. Taylor is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Taylor will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Edsel Ford on Monday. The Griffins came out on top against the Thunderbirds by a score of 11-7. The win continues a trend for the Griffins in their matchups with the Thunderbirds: they've now won five in a row.
Rochelle Mcadoo ?28 was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that she has snagged this season. Arianna Mckeown ?26 was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Carlson and Roosevelt meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Marauders lost 13-7 to the Bears. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Marauders have suffered since April 26, 2024.
Taylor Konkus was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Lauren Dunwoody, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Carlson's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Taylor, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Taylor hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321. However, it's not like Carlson struggles in that department as they've averaged .372. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Taylor suffered a grim 16-5 defeat to Carlson in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Griffins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
