SJ's lone touchdown came on a 1-yard run by Adams in the fourth quarter.
The Seahawks entered the contest giving up 23.9 points per game this year. The defense really stepped up, holding the Murrells Inlet school well below its season average of 24.6 points scored per game.
MB also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 48-7.
The win was a nice bounce back for the Seahawks, which lost to Socastee last week, 27-17. The defeat comes as a step back for St. James, which notched a 42-21 victory over Wilson in its previous outing.
In a AAA Region VII game next week St. James (2-6) takes on North Myrtle Beach, and Myrtle Beach (7-1) will go up against Georgetown also in a AAA Region VII game.
