Max Partlo and Trae Hart provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Garland Christian Academy. The longest such play in TAPPS Division III District 3 this season, the connection resulted in 95 yards.
First Baptist extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Swordsmen, 67-34. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Saints.
First Baptist's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Partlo threw for 506 and six touchdowns and Hart had 290 yards receiving. On the ground Justin Lovvorn chipped in 109 yards.
Jason Lovvorn's team's Partlo and Hart have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Partlo has thrown for 3004 yards this season, while Hart, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 87 catches for 1617 yards. Daniel Rorie from Rockwall Christian leads the league in rushing with 624 yards.
A big matchup in TAPPS Division III District 3 this week will be when the Saints take on the Warriors. First Baptist is in first place, while Rockwall Christian is in fifth place.
The Saints made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,587 from 7,759. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 67-34 victory over Garland Christian Academy last week.
