After flying high against the Millennium Lions last Friday, the Triad Math and Science Academy Bengals came back down to earth. Triad Math and Science Academy was beaten by Leadership Academy 63-21 on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Triad Math and Science Academy in their matchups with Leadership Academy: they've now lost six in a row.
Leadership Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caden Ryker, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. Ryker has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Landon Burleyson, who scored 18 points.
Triad Math and Science Academy's loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Leadership Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-10.
Triad Math and Science Academy will head out on the road to face off against Piedmont Classical at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Piedmont Classical will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Triad Math and Science Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Leadership Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Carver at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Carver's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games.
