Riverside took a 66-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lake Catholic on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why Riverside lost, one person who can't be blamed is Colin Durkin. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points along with five rebounds. Those five rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Brady Mcknight was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Lake Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aiden Webb led the charge by scoring 17 points. The matchup was Webb's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Budrys rini, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds.
Riverside has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Lake Catholic, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.

As for Lake Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
