Fernley will be defending their home turf for the first time on Thursday when they go up against Churchill County at 5:00 PM. It might come down to the wire as the game is expected to be close.
Fernley had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against Truckee last Thursday as they made off with a 33-7 win.
Meanwhile, Churchill County couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 20-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Spring Creek.
Fernley's victory lifted them to 1-0 while Churchill County's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Fernley can add another positive mark to their record or if Churchill County can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Fernley's step.
