It was a good run, but the Hendersonville Commandos unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 37-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cookeville. While losing is never fun, Hendersonville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Cookeville is ranked second).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cookeville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isabel Garcia, who scored eight points along with four blocks and three steals. Garcia set a new season high mark in steals with three. Macy Hudson was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds.
Hendersonville's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Cookeville, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with that win, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season.
Hendersonville will take on Station Camp at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cookeville, they will head out on the road to face off against York Institute at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. York Institute will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
