The Highlands Ranch Falcons will head out on the road to challenge the Bear Creek Bears at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Highlands Ranch took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Heritage, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Falcons had just enough and edged out the Eagles 8-7. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Highlands Ranch got a great performance from Thomas Healy as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Healy has become a key player for the Falcons: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-9 otherwise.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bear Creek, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Lakewood on Thursday as they made off with a 7-1 victory.
Jamin Patterson made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
In other batting news, Matt Hegerle was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Brandon Adams-Anders was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Bear Creek's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Highlands Ranch hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. It's a different story for Bear Creek, though, as they've only averaged .259. Will they be able to contain Highlands Ranch's hitters?
Everything went Highlands Ranch's way against Bear Creek in their previous matchup back in May of 2021, as Highlands Ranch made off with a 15-8 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
