Robby Blaine posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Monday. He struck out 11 batters over 8.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and only one walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. Sonora is 3-1 when Blaine posts eight or more strikeouts, but 2-3 otherwise.

Looking ahead, Blaine and Sonora will be playing at home against Murrieta Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Sadly, Blaine's big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped Sonora's three-game streak of wins on the road. With the streak broken, Blaine and Sonora surely have a bit of extra motivation heading into Monday's match.
